I found the concept of a delta rather a tricky one. It’s a specific point where one thing changes into, or intersects with another, I thought. So, I took it from there.
Firstly, there was a creative moment of change at the Trench Town Learning Centre, where the older children were learning screen printing.
Water is always change, where it intersects with another kind of water, or another natural form. I am sharing two sea photographs here, both from Portland in eastern Jamaica: one where a river meets the sea (although from the photograph, perhaps you cannot tell), and another where rocks divide a calm bathing spot from the waves beyond.
There are more watery photos too: One where the acid yellow water, with its oily sheen, turns into pure white salt, at Salt River; and another where water bubbles from one rock ledge to another, at YS Falls.
Finally, there are lots of little points in humans’ lives where there is that intersection, where something changes. The last day of a summer camp organised by Youth Crime Watch of Jamaica was like that. A few weeks of fun, creativity and learning had passed; and now it was the Last Day.
Beautiful, pictures and all! Keep going Emma. Your work is beautiful and appreciated.
