For this week’s Photo Challenge, I thought of people whom I had observed in unlikely situations. I thought of oddly named buildings that seemed strangely out of place…and a stranded creature, that somehow ended up on a beach, calling for its mother. Quirky. Unlikely.
A young trainee is overcome with shyness, when a microphone is put in his hand, at the official launch of the Voices for Jamaica Today Foundation.
Here’s another young man from the inner city, who was so captivated by birdwatching at a summer camp sponsored by BirdsCaribbean a few years ago. He wandered off alone with his binoculars.
Another unlikely scenario… Teachers in St. Ann pretending to be migrating birds during a BirdSleuth training session with NEPA. There was laughter!
Now this seems like an unlikely name for a tiny, brilliantly painted building on a quiet country road, with a church at the top of the hill. We didn’t see any Russians!
A few years back, we were walking along a cliff top in north Cornwall when we spotted a young seal – completely helpless and stranded, while its mother circled in the waters beyond anxiously. We think it was rescued later. An unusual sight indeed.
Where It’s At – at the top of a precipice behind – a drop of a few hundred feet – in the mountains of St. Mary.
