Soon Come!

My apologies, dear readers, for neglecting this space in the last week or two. Events have overtaken me!

However, I have been busy writing elsewhere. You can find me on the Gleaner’s blog pages here under Social Impact – where recently I have been writing about environmental issues in the Caribbean, and whether we are really winning the battle against plastic (among other things). I write for this page on average once per week.

I am also a part of the fantastic Global Voices community. Recently, I have posted a few pieces on reactions to Trinidad and Tobago’s recent overturning of the “buggery law”; controversy surrounding incarcerated deejay Buju Banton’s imminent release; and a series on the three women of the Americas (from Brazil, Jamaica and the United States), who visited Jamaica last month with Amnesty International to tell their stories of extrajudicial killings by the police. You can find all my stories here. Several more are coming up shortly!

In case you didn’t know, also – you can find me on social media. Twitter is my second home: @petchary. My Facebook page is Emma Caroline Lewis and I am also on LinkedIn here and even have a modest Tumblr blog (very modest). I save stories about the Caribbean environment on a Google Plus page here.

However, I am anxious to return to this space on a regular basis – very soon!

  1. Great stuff! Do you have anything for next week’s island innovation?
