1 million homeless Jamaicans is too many. Sign the petition. Do summn.

A wonderful Jamaican blogger (currently overseas-based) shared this petition on her page. Carla Moore is a lively, humorous, insightful, highly intelligent writer, poet and commentator. She speaks fast, sometimes, and largely in Jamaican patois - but it is a delight. I thank Carla from the bottom of my heart for caring about this issue, which is fundamentally one of POVERTY. Why do we want one-third of our population to be living in squatter communities, at the mercy of every whim and fancy of nature and of man? Please ask our political leaders. I suspect they may have the answers, if they can tell the truth.... Please look at this page on change.org, and wherever you live in the world, please consider signing and sharing with friends and contacts. It would be hugely appreciated. We promise to keep you updated on this issue! (Major kudos to two youth-led organizations, the Jamaica Youth Advocacy Network and Help Ja Children, for putting this together. Jamaica's young people are awesome!)

  2. A rowing problem globally and … sadly. :-(

    1. Problem is it’s a problem that our leaders – politicians, private sector etc – have happily turned their back on for the last 50 years of our Independence… And it’s the women and children who are most affected.
